Getting Started

TiviEase Go runs on both Android TV and phone/tablet with a single app. The app itself provides no channels or content — you add your own IPTV provider's M3U playlist or Xtream Codes account.

First-launch screen

If no playlist is defined when the app opens, the welcome screen appears. It offers four cards:

CardWhat it does
Add Playlist
M3U / Xtream
Takes you to the home screen and opens the add-playlist form. Details: Adding a Playlist.
Sign in with Google
Cloud Sync
Signs you in with your Google account; your cloud source settings, favorites and watch history are downloaded, then playlists are updated automatically.
Sign in with QR Code
Scan from phone TV
Opens a QR code on the TV valid for 3 minutes; when you scan it with the phone app and approve, the TV signs into the same account.
Settings
System & Profile
Opens the settings screen if you'd like to look around before adding a playlist.

Tip: If you already use TiviEase Go on another device, the fastest route is Sign in with Google or QR Sign-in — all your playlists and settings arrive automatically.

Profile selection

If more than one profile is defined on the device, the "Select Profile" screen is shown at launch. Use the arrow keys + OK to pick a profile. Profiles with a PIN ask for it first. Each profile keeps its own favorites, "My List" content, watch history and personal settings.

  • To add/edit profiles: Settings › Profiles (see Profile Management).
  • To switch profiles while running, press the avatar icon on the top bar.

QR code sign-in TV MOBILE

Use your phone instead of typing credentials on the TV:

  1. On the TV, open the Sign in with QR Code card from the welcome screen (or inside Settings › Accounts) — a QR code appears. The code is valid for 3 minutes.
  2. Open the TiviEase Go mobile app on your phone and scan the code on the TV with the QR scanner screen.
  3. Press the "Sign in" button on the phone — you'll see "Approved — TV is signing in".
  4. The TV signs in with your phone's account within seconds; your playlist and settings sync over.

If the QR code expires, close the dialog and reopen it — a new code is generated. QR sign-in requires the same app open on your phone with your account already signed in.

Google sign-in and sync

When you sign in with a Google account, this data is synchronized across devices: source/playlist settings, favorites, "My List", watch history, profiles and premium license. After the first sign-in your sources and EPG are downloaded automatically — no manual update needed.

  • Sync settings and linked devices: Settings › Accounts, Sync & Devices.
  • You can also use the app without an account — data is then stored on the device only.

Adding a Playlist

Two source types are supported: M3U (URL or local file) and Xtream Codes (server + credentials). When a playlist is added, content is automatically classified as Live TV / Movies / Series.

Where to add it?

  • From the Add Playlist card on the welcome screen,
  • or via Settings › Playlists › Add Playlist.

Adding an M3U playlist

  1. Open Add Playlist, pick the M3U / XMLTV card.
  2. Give the list a name in the Name field (e.g. "Main List").
  3. Type the M3U link into the URL / File Path field or pick a file from the device with the folder icon. Supported extensions: .m3u, .m3u8, .xml, .txt.
  4. Press Add — the playlist is downloaded and processed; progress is shown on the loading band below.

When picking a file, the file name is used automatically if the name field is empty. URLs must start with http/https.

Adding an Xtream Codes account

  1. Pick the Xtream card.
  2. Source Name: any name you like (e.g. "Main Xtream").
  3. Server URL: your provider's address, e.g. http://server.com:8080
  4. Username and Password: the credentials from your provider. Use the eye icon on the password field to see what you typed.
  5. Add — the app connects to the Xtream API; live streams, movies and series are fetched separately.

In the free version a total of 1 playlist can be added (M3U or Xtream — not both). Unlimited playlists require Pro.

Playlist management

Items under Settings › Playlists:

ItemDescription
Existing PlaylistsShows defined M3U and Xtream sources; each source card shows last update date and active/inactive state. Select a source to edit, delete or refresh it. The totals card shows the live/series/movie distribution.
Update FrequencyAutomatic refresh interval for playlists: Manual, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 or 168 hours. With Manual, playlists refresh only when you trigger it.
Update All PlaylistsRe-downloads all sources at once. Sources are processed in the background in sequence; track progress on the loading band.
EPG SourcesLets you choose which EPG source is assigned to each playlist ("Assign to List").
Channel GroupsHide, rename and reorder the groups coming from the playlist (sports, news, etc.).
SortingDetermines channel order: By Name, By Number, Manual Sort, Original Order, By Group.
Channel Name FiltersRules that automatically remove prefixes/suffixes from channel names (e.g. "TR:", "|4K"). The * wildcard is supported; the "Sample Conversion" field previews the result.

Adding an EPG source (XMLTV)

To get a program guide, add your IPTV provider's XMLTV/EPG address:

  1. Open Settings › TV Guide › Add EPG Source.
  2. Enter a name and the URL / Address, then save.
  3. Once the source is downloaded, channels are matched automatically by name similarity; you can link unmatched ones manually via Channel EPG Mapping.

The free version allows 1 EPG source. Some Xtream providers serve their own EPG — when an Xtream source is added, EPG often arrives automatically.

Groups, sorting and name filters

  • Channel Groups: manage group headings coming from the M3U/Xtream. Hidden groups don't appear in the TV list; ordering defines the group sequence in the channel list.
  • Sorting: with "Manual Sort" you can build your own order in the channel list; "Original Order" keeps the sequence from the playlist file.
  • Name filters: strip patterns at the start/end of channel names (e.g. country prefixes) — the list becomes more readable. A separate filter for VOD names: Settings › Media Info › VOD Name Filters.

  • Long-pressing OK on a poster opens the context menu.
  • On the TV page, pausing on a channel row plays that channel in the live preview window at the top right.

Using the TV Guide (EPG)

The TV menu switches between two views: channel list and EPG grid ("Switch to EPG list" / "Switch to channel list").

  • Long OK on a channel row: opens the EPG context menu (favorite, record, reminder, hide, etc.).
  • Short OK on a channel: starts watching it full screen.

If no EPG data shows on a channel: first make sure an EPG source is defined and up to date (Settings › TV Guide › Update EPG), then match the channel manually with "EPG Match".

Search & voice search

  • The Search menu (or "Search" in context menus) opens the smart search screen. It searches movie, series, channel names and EPG programs ("Program Matches", "TV Broadcasts") together.
  • The microphone icon starts Voice Search — speak while it shows "Listening…"; microphone permission is requested on first use.
  • Search History lists previous searches; clear it with "Clear".
  • On mobile, the search tab serves the same purpose; type by tapping.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Channels don't load / playlist won't download

Make sure the URL is correct and starts with http(s)://. In Settings › Playlists › Existing Playlists, select the source and re-download with "refresh"; on Xtream check there are no spaces in the username/password. Check the internet connection and that the provider is online.

EPG (program guide) looks empty

First add an XMLTV source via Settings › TV Guide › Add EPG Source and download it with Update EPG. If a channel still has no data, pick the correct EPG channel manually with EPG Match from the context menu. If times are shifted, fix them with Time Shift.

Stream won't open or freezes

Set Buffering to "Medium/Large" under Settings › Player; if the problem persists, try the software decoder under Video Output. 4K streams can strain low-power TVs — prefer the channel's HD/FHD version.

No audio, or audio and video out of sync

Try turning Audio Passthrough off under Settings › Player › Audio Output (bitstream causes issues on some devices). For sync drift use the Audio Delay slider; if the stream has another language, pick a track via Broadcast Language on the player card.

Subtitles don't show or characters look broken

Pick the right track from the player card or Settings › Player › Subtitles; if characters are garbled, change the encoding (UTF-8 etc.). Size/color/position are adjusted in the same panel.

Posters and movie info don't appear

Make sure your TMDB/OMDb keys are entered and the services are on under Settings › Media Info (keys are free to obtain). Pull in bulk with "Enrich All Content"; fix a wrong match via Search & Match Content in the content menu.

I bought Premium but it didn't unlock / doesn't show on another device

Make sure you signed in with the same Google account — the license syncs over. If the device limit is full, remove an old device under Settings › Accounts, Sync & Devices. Use the activation code if needed.

No channel opens after the TV stayed in sleep mode for a long time

Close and reopen the app completely. The app automatically closes players when going to sleep; if it still hangs, a restart fixes it.

How do I move my settings to another device?

Create a file with Settings › Other › Back Up Data, then import it on the new device with Restore Data — or sign in with Google and use sync.

I can't get a channel back / it's missing from the list

The channel may be hidden: use Show hidden channels in the EPG context menu or Settings › Parental Control › Hidden Channels to make it visible again. If the channel is blocked, it opens with the PIN. If the group is hidden, check under Settings › Playlists › Channel Groups.

How do I delete my account?

Settings › Accounts, Sync & Devices › Delete Account permanently deletes the account along with your cloud data. Details: Account Deletion page.
